A few months ago, we introduced our Chief Technology Officer, Daniel Galarza. Now we are pleased to feature the other two members of our development team: Caleb Lewis and Nick Landkamer. Caleb is a longtime member of our team, while Nick joined us in late March of this year.

“Neapolitan Labs created some lofty goals in 2020,” says Neapolitan Labs Chief Business Officer Caley Lewis. “To hit those goals, there were two areas we needed to expand: tech/product development and sales. The first order of business was to bring in Daniel as CTO and then have him help bring in the talent needed to build all the products on our roadmap.”

As our lead developer, Caleb works on the back end of our content management systems.

“Caleb’s been an integral part of Mint Chip Lab for more than five years, joining our team before our Neapolitan Labs for Education or Mint Chip Lab platforms existed,” says Neapolitan Labs President Brian McMillin.

Caleb’s our expert for both of our proprietary content management systems and takes the lead in building and updating our modules to meet the needs of our clients.

Caleb Lewis, Lead Developer

Caleb has been strengthening his development skills since college where he earned a minor in computer science with his business management degree.

One of his favorite aspects of development is that there are always new skills to master. And with Neapolitan Labs, in addition to trying out new development strategies, Caleb loves getting to know more about the industries of our clients and how to make them happy.

“I enjoy learning about all of the new clients we sign-on, like the counties in Iowa and the schools,” Caleb says. “You just learn something new every day.”

In the future, Caleb hopes to continue to grow and expand his skills to take on more development work and meet our clients’ needs.

“It’s the same big goal as Neapolitan Labs’ overall: just keep growing,” he says.

Fun Facts:

Caleb is married to our Chief Business Officer, Caley Lewis. They have two daughters who keep him busy with their basketball, gymnastic, and ballet pursuits. As Kansas City fans, Caleb and his family try to go to a Chiefs or Royals game every year.

Nick Landkamer

As our front-end developer, Nick works closely with Daniel on our websites and our newest mobile app project.

As we grow our tech and product roster, we are extremely excited to have these key team member additions like Nick to help us achieve our goals as a company.

“Nick was brought on to help us pursue cutting-edge technologies as a new way of building our websites,” Daniel says. “From day one, Nick has helped us learn new JavaScript-based tools and wield them to create even more of the elegant experiences Neapolitan Labs is known for.”

Nick has a background working with C#, SQL, and APIs. He decided to pursue programming after realizing how much he enjoyed using Microsoft’s programming language, VBA, in Excel spreadsheets at a former job.

“I just really enjoy that kind of stuff; it stimulates my mind, and that’s really what programming is,” Nick says. “I always try to get my wife into it, but she absolutely hates it. It’s not for everybody, but it’s absolutely for me.”

Like Caleb, Nick enjoys that there’s always something new to learn in programming.

“There’s always a push to learn more and more,” Nick says. “And that’s just my personality, to always be learning.”

Since joining, Nick has already assisted with development on one of our mobile app projects, as well as the build-out of a brand new website using our new web architecture. We are very grateful and excited to have Nick and all the expertise he brings!
