We are so thankful to have Chief Business Officer Caley Lewis on the Neapolitan Labs team.

Caley was the first to join our team in 2016 when Neapolitan Labs was still known as Web Development by Brian McMillin LLC, named after our company’s president.

“Brian called me up one day and asked if I would be interested in helping him out with some of his clients and their websites, and I said sure,” Caley explains.

With Caley on the team, it was time to retire the company name and think of something new.

“We decided we had to get rid of Web Development by Brian McMillin LLC,” Caley says. “We collaborated on the name Neapolitan Labs, and then the rest is history.”

Neapolitan Labs would not exist if Caley had not joined my fledgling website development business in 2016. She defined and implemented practices that improved the business across the board, from project management to client support to business development.

Since Caley joined Neapolitan Labs, she’s been essential to our rebranding, developing products and services, entering new markets, and so much more. Before her arrival, the company focused mainly on web development. With Caley’s expertise, we expanded services to include social media and digital marketing.

“Her work paid dividends immediately,” Mark Eckman, Council Bluffs Convention & Visitors Bureau executive director, says. “The bureau won the award for outstanding social media execution from the Iowa Tourism Office due in no small part to her insights and guidance.”

The role proved beneficial for Caley as well. It combined her passion for supporting and growing businesses with her interests in technology and marketing.

“It’s always been in my DNA to be able to help or support the growth of companies, and that’s why when the opportunity presented itself, I just took it,” Caley says. “It’s been a very fun and rewarding experience to see Neapolitan Labs bloom into the business that it is today. We don’t have any plans on slowing down.”

Caley’s strong work ethic began at the young age of 14 when she began working odd jobs in her hometown of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City. While there, she found a passion for technology in an IT role that eventually turned into a project management position.

“It kind of evolved from there into more of a media role,” Caley says. “I ended up at Meredith and worked as a media specialist/project manager hybrid role which is where I met Brian.”

I cannot thank Caley enough for the time and energy she has dedicated over the past five years to making Neapolitan Labs what it is today.

While working, Caley earned her bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in marketing. She went on to get two master’s degrees, one in marketing and one in project management from Keller Graduate School of Management. With her education and work experience, Caley has created a professional niche that encompasses all of her interests.

“For me, it was always appealing to dedicate time, whether it was my education or just general knowledge or experience, in that field,” she explains. “I think anytime you can find something that you really are passionate about or keeps your interest, you should definitely pursue that avenue, and that’s what I did.”

Caley also pursues these interests through inventions and even went through the process of getting two different types of patents, one was for a product she pitched to Hallmark.

“Ultimately, it would have taken a lot more financial backing to get it done so it fizzled out, but that’s something that I enjoy doing,” Caley says. “I enjoy building, tinkering with things, carving out new paths, or products or services, that may not exist, and taking them from an ideation stage all the way to a production stage.”

This same drive and creativity are what make her a crucial part of the Neapolitan Labs team.

“Caley has an amazing combination of skills,” Brian says. “Her innovative mindset has helped identify and develop digital marketing solutions that directly led to client success stories.”

Another way Caley has made a difference at Neapolitan Labs is the way she strengthens and builds upon our client relationships.

“We get a lot of our inspiration from our clients when we build new products or provide new services,” Caley says. “We’ve been lucky to have awesome clients that give as much to us as we give to them. I am very fortunate to have met them personally and to get to work with them.”

We are extremely grateful for everything Caley does for Neapolitan Labs. We can’t wait to see what the future brings — with her on the team, we know it’s bright!

Our team enjoys working with Caley and wish her nothing but the best as she celebrates five years with Neapolitan Labs!
