Before 2020 came to a close, we launched a new county website for Jones County, Iowa. We’re very thankful to former Jones County auditor Janine Sulzner and her team for recommending us after we worked with them to launch the Jones County Elections website.
“Neapolitan Labs is on top of emerging technologies, particularly in social media, to help us get our message out to citizens in the formats they are using. Our experience with Neapolitan Labs was instrumental in Jones County contracting with Neapolitan Labs for our new all-encompassing County website launched in early December.” – Janine Sulzner, former Jones County Auditor
To best implement Jones County’s website needs, we met with each county department multiple times to understand what features would be most helpful for their staff and county residents. Through these meetings, special features were identified as needed for each department, such as a park directory for conservation, a sheriff sale list, and an interactive section corner map for secondary roads.
Custom modules were built for the Conservation Department to display visuals throughout, including dynamic news and events rotators.
”From the initial planning phase to the final design layout, they were always willing to meet and discuss ideas for content on each page. It was an easy transition and that was because of Neapolitan Labs’ willingness to go above and beyond to meet expectations. The end result is a user friendly, well designed and inviting website.Jennifer KoopmannJones County Conservation
The conservation department had the most content that required individual modules, such as a facilities list, virtual programs, and galleries. Visuals were a priority for the conservation team. We worked with them to create a unique layout for their department and services pages, including dynamic news and events rotators on their homepage. They also have the option to add photo galleries and videos to showcase their parks.
Other new website features include a search feature, a department and services directory, meeting minutes by individual meeting and year, and frequently asked questions.
It was a pleasure to work with the Jones County team to create an intuitive and mobile-friendly website for their residents and visitors. Check out the new site at JonesCountyIowa.gov.
”They listened to our wants and needs while keeping technology needs in focus. I cannot express enough how refreshing and fun it was to see the change from our old website to our new one that launched in December 2020.Lisa MootzJones County IT Coordinator
